Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the University is committed to safeguarding and maintaining the privacy of personal information.

This is an institution-wide policy, affecting students, staff, and trustees, as well as outside users and providers of the University services.

This is the University policy. 

Compliance/Policy Statement 

Parami University is committed to safeguarding and maintaining the privacy of personal information of individuals––students, alumni, staff, and outside users of university services. The University collects and uses (or processes) personal data about individuals in the process of providing its website and services. Processing personal data includes the collection, use, storage, transmission, disclosure, and destruction of personal information. This policy applies to all information collected by the University and its third-party service providers, including but not limited to websites and digital applications. 

Students and Alumni 

The University has a specific privacy policy on students and alumni in the Identity Protection and Data Management Policy and Procedures. 

Staff

The University processes information from the University staff - both administrative staff and academic staff. The University will never sell, trade, nor commercialize the personal data of its employees. 

All Users of Websites, Social Media, and Digital Applications 

1. The users should be informed that the University will use the data generated by the users to track users’ trends and preferences. 

2. Once the users consented to subscribe to the University’s digital contents, the email address may be used to communicate with and send information. 

3. The University will not share, sell or grant rights to any third party to use the collected information and email address for commercial or non-commercial purposes without users’ permission. 

4. The University forbids third parties to reshare or use the personal information collected by the University without consent once it is shared with the third parties for website improvement. 

5. The University website, social media, and digital applications may contain links to other sources, and the University is not responsible for the privacy policy or the content of such sources.

6. The users should be informed that the University will not insert any harmful technical risks into their devices. 

Review

The Administrative Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy in various offices of the University.
