Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the University adopts clear rules and processes regarding the processing of student fees, and discloses them to the students.
Scope
This is an administrative policy, affecting students and the administrative staff of the University.
Referenced Laws, Regulations, and/or Policies
The Higher Education Licensure Commission requires institutions to maintain policies regarding tuition, fees and refund.
Compliance/Policy Statement
The University shall maintain clear rules and processes regarding the handling of student fees, including disclosure of all tuition and fees applicable, terms of refund, conditions for financial hold and removal, and complaint mechanism available to the students. The University shall also make an earnest effort to offer reasonable payment options and processing time for the students to make payments. Clear procedures to offset scholarship and financial awards in the student accounts in a timely manner shall also be established.
The Office of Finance and Operations shall develop and administer implementation processes for student fees handling described herein. The tuition and fees, payment processes, refund terms, and other terms and conditions are to be transparently disclosed in the University Student Catalog annually.
Review
The Office of Finance and Operations is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy in various offices of the University.
