Student Rention Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to support students to complete their intended program of study and to improve student retention through various support services. 

Scope

This is an institution-wide policy affecting all students, academic and administrative staff.

This is the University Policy. 

Compliance/Policy Statement 

The University shall support all students to achieve high quality learning experiences and shall commit to utilize all available resources possible to support the students so that they complete their intended programs of studies. The University recognizes that the need to develop student support services to maximize student retention is the highest for new students who start their enrollment at the University. As such, the University shall devote as many resources as possible to support their transition into the University. The University, throughout the duration of studies, shall offer appropriate academic support services such as advising and mentoring to ensure a successful learning journey in their intended program of study, as well as student life services such as events, programs, and community activities to ensure that they feel a sense of belonging within the wider University community. 

The student data, including freshman retention rate, shall be collected, integrated, and closely monitored to implement effective approaches to student activities as well as maintain essential student support personnel to improve student retention. 

The University shall develop necessary procedures to implement this policy. 

Review

The Office of Admissions and Student Affairs is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy in various offices of the University.
