Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to set forth Parami University’s directives on media and public relations.
Scope
This institutional policy applies to all members of the Parami University community, including staff, faculty, students, and any individuals or representatives acting on behalf of the University.
Referenced Laws, Regulations, and/or Policies
Parami University’s Media and Public Relations Protocol applies the directives outlined in this Policy.
Compliance Statement
Parami University expects all members of the University community to comply fully with this policy. The University recognizes that accurate, consistent, and timely communication with the public and media is essential to institutional integrity and public trust.
All media engagement must therefore be conducted in accordance with the procedures and authorization requirements set forth in this policy.
Policy Statement
To maintain the integrity, consistency, and credibility of institutional communication, Parami University has established centralized authority for all media and public relations activities.
The Communications and PR Unit is the sole authorized body responsible for managing all media relations, including proactive and reactive engagement with journalists, media outlets, and public communication platforms. No member of the Parami University community may provide official statements, comments, or information to journalists or media organizations without prior coordination with the Communications and PR Unit.
The Communications and PR Unit Lead is responsible for drafting and issuing press releases in consultation with relevant department heads and University leadership.
Members of the Parami University community who become aware of matters of potential public interest are expected to inform their department heads or the relevant responsible units. Departments and responsible persons must coordinate with the Communications and PR Unit for assessment, messaging, and further action in accordance with this policy.
Unauthorized communication with media organizations may result in misinformation, reputational risk, and communication crises and is therefore subject to institutional review
Review
The Office of Institutional Advancement is responsible for working with relevant University offices to ensure compliance with this policy.
